Where is Okayama?

between Osaka and Hiroshima.

Access to Niimi

Niimi is located in the northern part of Okayama.

It can be reached in about 1 hour
from Kurashiki or Okayama by train.

Niimi also lies on the route
between Okayama and Izumo,
home to the famous Izumo Taisha Shrine.

新見は岡山県北部に位置しています。
倉敷駅・岡山駅からは
電車で約1時間でアクセスできます。

また、出雲大社で知られる出雲へ向かう
ルート上に位置しています。

Geology and Belief

Niimi sits on one of Japan’s largest limestone plateaus
(karst landscapes),
formed over thousands of years.

This is also a rare region in Japan
where limestone caves themselves
are objects of spiritual belief.

新見は、日本でも有数の規模を誇る
石灰岩台地（カルスト地形）に位置し、
